Part Time Fund Accountant – Outsourced Operations Provider (2 days a week)

The Role

Exciting opportunity to join a rapidly expanding outsourced Operations and Execution provider run by a team of ex buy side professionals. The role will be to help setup and oversee all aspects of fund accounting for OSMO’s diverse hedge fund client base. 


Duties & Responsibilities

•   Reporting directly to the Operations Manager / COO and close interaction with all senior management.
•   Varied role primarily focused on our clients Fund Accounting and OSMO’s Management Accounts.
•   Assist with setup of new clients and documentation of all procedures.
Fund Accounting
•   Preparation & Review monthly NAV reconciliations. 
•   Calculate all FX hedging trading for funds.
•   Experience in valuation of a variety of products including exchange traded & OTC (CDS, IRS, FXO, FX FWD).
•   Assist in the review of year-end statutory accounts.
•   Process client’s fees and expenses for funds and setup PMS accruals.
•   Assist the operations team with ad-hoc queries.
•   Provide operations coverage to team.


Experience & Attributes:

•   2-3 years ideally hedge fund buy side experience or with a tier 1 administrator (ideally with experience of exchange traded and OTC products). 
•   Qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent) with good accounting knowledge.
•   Experience of Enfusion desirable.
•   Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills (VBA a bonus).
•   Enthusiasm and Initiative with self-led approach.
•   Good communication skills.
•   Very high level of attention to detail and good analytical ability.
•   Organised with good time management.

Middle Office Associate

The Role

As a Middle Office Associate, you will be working closely alongside the experienced Middle Office team offering help and support to deal with their quickly expanding client base. This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate keen to gain insight and experience into the middle office world of hedge funds, where you will get exposure to all elements of the business and gain an in-depth knowledge of the complete investment life cycle.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for using their analytical mindset to analyse, interpret and reconcile financial data. The candidate will feel comfortable using insights they have discovered to communicate important themes and discoveries to company leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Covering daily dealing of UCIT’s funds and more ‘traditional’ Hedge Fund structures with a wide and varying strategy coverage.
• Primarily working with a prestigious and award winning Global Macro Fund client.
• Gaining exposure to a wide range of products and the compete transaction lifecycle.
• Helping with ongoing automation projects and process enhancement.
• Assisting with any trade settlement queries and Corporate Action processing.
• Providing daily positions and cash reconciliations.
• Supporting with trade reconciliation and client reporting.
• Various ad hoc duties.


• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance or equivalent experience (2.1 or above).
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel.
• Ideally, experience in the financial sector and a strong interest in the investment management industry.
• A self-starter with the ability to work confidently and autonomously.
• Strong analytical ability, with the confidence to review and draw conclusions from research.
